STEVE MILLS, CIMA®
For over three decades, Steve Mills has focused his time and energy navigating clients through dynamic financial situations and assisting them with the accumulation, preservation and transference of wealth. Steve combines discipline and compassion to help his clients reach their financial goals and objectives.
Steve began his career in 1984 as a Financial Advisor with E.F. Hutton in Dallas, where he developed his fundamental investment knowledge. He joined the Tyler, Texas office of Prudential Securities, a predecessor firm of Wells Fargo Advisors, in 2001 to take a team approach in providing personalized financial advice for individuals, wealthy families, private foundations, trusts and corporate retirement plans. In 2002, Steve earned the CIMA® (Certified Investment Management Analyst) certification by completing an approved educational program, passing a rigorous examination and meeting stringent experience requirements.
Steve spent six years in accounting prior to entering the financial services industry. In 1977, Steve earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky and then passed the CPA exam on his first attempt. After two years of required public accounting experience, Steve became a Certified Public Accountant and still maintains his certification in the State of Texas although he does not practice accounting.
Away from the office, Steve enjoys playing golf, physical fitness, teaching bible studies, and travel with his wife, Claire, and their three children. Steve has served on various boards during his career in Tyler, including the City of Tyler Half Cent Sales Tax Committee, the Hospice of East Texas Foundation, the East Texas Food Bank Foundation, First Tee of Tyler and Hollytree Country Club. Steve volunteers at the Youth and Family Enrichment Center, a foster home for boys. Steve is an elder at Sylvania Church and teaches an adult Sunday school class.
